MPC Technology

MPC technology really is just that, our own. We possess Patents and have active Patent applications for the very engineering innovations that make MPC speed wheels the performance leaders.

The success of our wheel technology is reinforced by World Championship and World Cup successes, and the many other manufacturers who are, well, trying to do what we do.

But then, emulation is the ultimate accolade.

1994 (multi-layer, multi-durometer development)

MPC develops a unique multi-durometer inline skate wheel design, using multiple layers of polyurethane material that co-operate to enable the rolling motion of a wheel over a surface.  The wheel’s multiple durometers are arranged in a configuration enabling the wheel to absorb energy under load, and release that energy on reduction of load for non-radial propulsion.

You get greatly increased rebound, without the associated wear… and they’ve got snap.

Enter the modern MPC speed wheel, where the tire or ‘outer core’ is adapted to transmit energy to and from an inner core, and release this energy.

The inner core, the softer of the two materials, is adapted to enable controlled lateral flex of the wheel in response to non-radial loading.

The wheel allows the skater to take advantage of these characteristics, bringing an increased area of sidewall material into contact with the surface in a controlled manner.

2005 (blade-form hub development)

Then we got busy optimizing the platform for the MTech™ tire. The result: the unique MPC Turbine Hub. Multiple blade-form spokes, in co-operation with the opposed surfaces of the inner and outer hub, define low-resistance airflow passageways through the rotating skate wheel.

The Turbine Hub reduces hub-generated airflow resistance and turbulence, maintaining more rotational speed.
