Haining World Championships – Sep. 11

Things were slightly more subdued at the track today, with Argentina having their second session after a long trip, the New Zealand team taking the morning off, Colombia heading to the track with just a small subgroup of their large squad, and Australia taking a largely new team to the track for their second session.

Somehow during works a 1cm deep hole had formed in the track, that was being patched later in the day prior to another Australia/New Zealand practice that had to work around a cone positioned over the newly-patched hole.

The track, which can become very humid inside, changes from day to day – some days offering more roll than others and the line that holds a skater one morning may send them sliding out the next, as a urethane surface begins to coat the racing line with the track getting perhaps the most high-speed traffic since it’s construction.

Plenty of discussion on the message boards right now about freedom of choice on the wheel front, but a lot of tight, secure corners are being run on MPC Black Track, Street Fight and the new Road War wheels. The Belgian team, Swings and Spruyt having raced Road War successfully all season, arrived for their first practice tonight also.
